IFO Academic Affairs Coordinator
Cindy Kaus has more than 20 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member with 16 of those years in the Minnesota State system at Metropolitan State University. Her leadership as department chair and research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning provide a broad understanding of current statewide and nationwide academic issues.
Previous to joining the math department at Metropolitan State University, Cindy was a faculty member in the mathematics department at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. As grant author and Co-PI on the National Science Foundation grant, Engaging Mathematics, Cindy has led the project in developing civically engaged mathematics curriculum and creating a national community of practice among four- and two-year faculty.
Cindy earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University and a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Arizona. She also has industry experience working as an electrical engineer at Honeywell Satellite Systems in Glendale Arizona. Cindy and her husband, Chris, live in St. Paul with their daughter, Olivia. They enjoy traveling, camping, and all things outdoors.
