On February 16, 2018 the IFO held the first Coaches Caucus meeting. Below is a brief outline of the topics covered at the meeting.

· 2018 Delegate Assembly New Resolutions Related to Athletic Appointments:

On Promotion - After 5 years as an Instructor, coaches are moved to the Professor lane on the salary schedule
On Initial Appointment - Head coaches will be initially offered a minimum 4-year appointment, and Assistant coaches may be offered up to a 4-year initial appointment
Minimum On Renewal of Appointment -In renewing a coach’s athletic appointment, coaches will be offered a minimum 4-year appointment
No Lower Salary Step on Renewal - In renewing a coach’s athletic appointment, it will not be permissible to lower a coach’s step on the salary schedule
Eliminate the Instructor Salary Schedule

· Issues and Concerns for Coaches - Other Outcomes:

o How supplemental pay is being paid on each campus

o Inequities among coaches in rank and salary step

Coaches would like to build in an orientation for new hires, including information about the IFO contract and the Professional Development and Evaluation process (Article 22) relative to coaches
