Faculty Input is Needed

Forums are being launched for faculty at all of the Minnesota State universities to provide their input on the "Re-imagining the Future of Higher Education in Minnesotaā€¯initiative. As you've learned, our work as faculty on this topic parallels the work of the Minnesota State Board of Trustees. In their lineup of speakers on this topic, the faculty voice is missing. In order to ensure a strong faculty voice, the IFO is constructing an independent set of faculty recommendations on the Future of Higher Education for presentation to the Chancellor.

We hope many of you will be able to join us at the face-to-face faculty forums being announced or soon-to-be-announced on your campus.  Many of you will have much to say, and we want to hear it!

If you are unable to join us at the campus forums we have also created a form on our website that allows you to submit comments, anonymously if you wish, for consideration as we develop the faculty recommendations.

Please click here to submit your comments online.

While all ideas and comments on the Future of Higher Education in Minnesota are welcome, here are questions guiding statewide discussions likely to get you thinking:

  1. What trends are you seeing in higher education?

  2. How do you see your campus addressing these trends?

  3. What is being done on your campus to ensure/increase student success?

  4. What could be done going forward to ensure/ increase student success?

  5. What is being done on your campus to ensure/increase access, equity and the elimination of gaps?

  6. What could be done going forward to ensure/ increase access, equity and the elimination of gaps?

  7. What ideas do you have for greater financial sustainability of the state universities?

We are very interested in detailed examples (contact names welcome) that we can include as exemplars.

Thank you for helping us with this important work.
