'22-'23 IFO Contract Settlement Approved

I am pleased to announce that IFO members overwhelmingly voted to approve the 2021-2023 IFO/MinnState contract settlement. 92% of the votes cast were in favor of the settlement terms.

Members should be proud and energized by the record voter participation. This contract settlement had a higher percentage of votes cast than any contract settlement in recent history. A large number of positive votes demonstrates our united commitment to our equity and inclusion goals and emphasizes the importance of contract language. Thank you to everyone who took the time to cast a vote.

Next Steps:
Now that the IFO membership has accepted the tentative agreement, the MinnState Board of Trustees is expected to vote to agree to the settlement on December 20. After the Board of Trustees consents to the settlement, it then goes to the Legislature and will be considered by a House and Senate joint subcommittee.

If the Subcommittee approves or takes no action within 30 days, the settlement agreement will go into effect provisionally until the full Legislature acts on the contract.

The full Legislature will need to ratify the contract during the 2022 Legislative session which convenes on January 31, 2022. Throughout the spring semester, look for legislative updates from the IFO on contacting your legislators to urge them to ratify the contract settlement. Upon the Legislature's approval, the contract will be permanently adopted.

Please contact me at jeffers@ifo.org with any questions about contract ratification or the Legislative process. You may review the changes that have been approved by IFO members at www.ifo.org/contractsettlement

Thank you again for your continued support and thanks to our Negotiating Team and Staff who worked long and hard for this contract.

In Solidarity,

Brent Jeffers
