Faculty Reps Needed: MinnState System Committees

Welcome back to the start of a new academic year! I hope that your summer was restorative and that your fall classes are off to a strong start.

The IFO seeks faculty representatives to staff the following Minnesota State System committees starting this term (Fall 2026). Known meeting dates and frequencies have been listed.

  • Academic Equity Committee2 positions with a two-year appointment until May 2028; 1 position with a three-year appointment until May 2029. Meets Wednesday mornings once a month.

  • Developmental Education Steering Committee3 positions; two-year appointment until May 2028.

  • Teacher Education Committee1 position for a faculty member who teaches primarily in undergraduate education programs; two-year appointment until May 2028.  Applications should clearly address work in undergraduate education programs

Interested faculty must submit an application by September 22, 2026.

Please see the committee charges for more information on the scope of work and duties associated with these committee positions. Representatives must be IFO members.

Minimum expectations of IFO representatives on Minnesota State councils and committees are regular attendance at committee meetings and regular reporting back to the IFO Academic Affairs Coordinator on committee activities and decisions. All Minnesota State councils and committees meet virtually.

These committees are part of the Minnesota State shared governance process. MN State committee work may serve as evidence of faculty professional development under the IFO-MN State Master Agreement (Art. 22 and Appendix G).

Faculty members are invited to reach out to Aureliano M. DeSoto, IFO Academic Affairs Coordinator, with any questions (desoto@ifo.org).
